During December 2008, in response to EEC Directive 2005/84/EEC and the United States Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, Transpower installed their own phthalates test equipment. Certain phthalates (DEHP, DBP and BBP) have been found to cause long term risks to the development of reproductive and endocrine functions, which regulate metabolism and hormone activity. To ensure full compliance with these Regulations, Transpower now has newly installed analytical equipment, which provides trace level detection and phthalates screening of polymers and other materials commonly used in the production of consumer products.
